LORENTZ Donates Pump System
LORENTZ says „Merry Christmas“ by donating a pump system for a school in Kenya
As in previous years, LORENTZ has decided to donate equipment for an outstanding charity project instead of sending Christmas cards to its esteemed customers.
A PS1800 C-SJ5-12 system and an ETATRACK active 1500-A tracking system has been donated to a school near the border of Kenya and Tanzania, called Maili Tisa.
The school used to get water from a communal bore hole, also powered by a LORENTZ solar pump. But as the community grew, the water yield was not sufficient to supply the school anymore. A donor drilled a bore hole on the school premises, and the school was offered a second-hand AC pump that was not only over sized for its requirements, but also had to be powered by a diesel generator when there was diesel available. At other times the schools staff and students had to wait for a share of water from the existing LORENTZ pump from the community bore hole.
The donation of a pump system and a tracker was completed by donation of twelve 185Wp PV modules, cable, pipe and installation team by the local supplier and LORENTZ partner. Together with the students and teachers they installed the LORENTZ pump together with the AC pump as backup.
The new system fully meets the schools water needs in a reliable manner, the pump provides about 40 m311.000 US Gal.8.900 UK Gal. per day from a 50 m160 ft160 ft deep bore hole.
