We recommend connecting at least two 100 W PV modules to operate the S1-200 pump. However, you can also connect PV modules of other sizes, taking care not to exceed 55 V otherwise it will cause damage to the controller, in case you require to connect PV modules of other sizes or different from the one offered by LORENTZ, please read carefully the following information before making the connection:
To connect two LORENTZ 100 W PV modules, the wiring should be done as follows (see also picture below):
A PV module has two cables: one positive (male) and one negative (female).
Take the positive (male) cable from one of the PV modules and connect it to the negative (female) cable of the other PV module (this is known as a series connection).
Then take the remaining cables and connect them to the MC4 adapter included inside the S1-200 pump box (this is known as parallel connection), and then connect it to the controller.
In case you require to connect PV modules of other sizes or different from the one offered by LORENTZ, do not exceed 55 V DC on the solar array, otherwise the controller will be damaged.
