Choacaman III located in Quiché is a small village with public water supply for most houses. The scarce public water supply with very little pressure would not reach the school nor the local health center which are located above the village. WATER FOR PEOPLE an NGO realizing projects in the area decided to implement a solar pumping. Up until the installation of the solar water pumping system the pupils had to bring water from home. Now school and health center have running water fed from a gravity tank which is kept full every automatically every day by the Lorentz solar pumping system.
