The first solar pump system successfuly installed in country of Albania!
The project funded by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)-Adaptation Fund Climate Innovation Accelerator (AFCIA) programme. AFCIA is a $16 million programme funded by the Adaptation Fund and the European Union. It is designed to support the development of locally-led, innovative adaptation practices, tools, and technologies in communities from developing countries.
The project was managed by Resource Enviromental Center (REC) of Albania. The main task was to cover the irrigation needs of six greenhouses, using one solar submesible pump connected to an extended irrigation network.
According REC specifications the flux of the water to the most remote greenhouse (800m away from pump) should me 2lit/sec@1.5bar.
This project will be used by REC, as a pilot project, for the introduction of green, smart and sustainable technoligies to Albanian farmers.
