If your pump does not start, or delivers less water than expected, please check the following:
Solar Module
- Check whether all plugs are connected correctly (S1-200 / S1-700)
- Check whether there is enough irradiation
- Check whether the PV modules are dirty, shaded or not facing towards the sun
- Check whether the modules are connected in a correct way (S1-200 / S1-700), check the input voltage of the controller
- Check whether the connected solar modules have enough power/voltage
Controller / Wiring
- The plugs are wet or have not been inserted properly (S1-200 / S1-700)
- The controller is too hot and needs to cool down
Pump / Hose
- Is the pump submersed in the water? Check the water level (dry running)
- The pump is clogged with mud or sand
- The hose or pipe is blocked, twisted or kniked
- The water temperature is too high, the pump stops or does not start → Check the temperature class of your pump (applies for helical pumps in S1-200 range)
- The water temperature is too low → the flow rate is reduced
- The pump has been exposed to the sun and is too hot
- The lift is higher than the head range of the pump
- For centrifugal pumps (used in S1-700 systems), if the motor speed is too low to overcome the total head of the installation, the pump may run but no water will be delivered.
S-Connect app settings
The S-Connect app includes several settings that can prevent the pump from starting or can reduce the water output if they are enabled or incorrectly configured. Check the following settings as applicable:
- Daily water limit reached
- Timer settings that stop the pump at specific times
- Activated sensors (Tank Full Switch, Dry Run Protection or Remote Tank Switch accessories)
- “Start-up Time” and “Retry Time” set in the Remote Tank Switch accesory (the configured waiting time before the pump starts or retries may be too long, making it appear that the pump does not start; these parameters can be adjusted in the S-Connect app)
- Motor speed or maximum flow limits (if set too low, the pump may be running but delivering very little water)
